Day 137 / 2016 - More Caravan Modifications

Anne finally got what she has been chasing for the past few years a padded stone cover for the front of the van.

We noticed more dents appearing across the front up high and mainly on the right hand side. We deduced this was more because of oncoming vehicles than from our own tires. Another problem water was ingressing through the front window above the bed mainly when we drove through heavy rain. It appeared the rain would hit head on and front being on an angle would then be pushed up past the window weather seal to inside. We decided that a cover over the whole front should stop a lot of the stone damage and prevent the rain from being pushed inside.

Greg had recommended an upholsterer in in Mareeba so we contacted him. He came out and measured up to provide estimate a quote. 2 days later we went into his workshop and he showed us the colours to chose from then gave us a quote of $660.00. We decided to go ahead and organised a day for the installation. Although he could do the work on site it was cheaper to take the van in to his workshop.

On the scheduled date we took the van in and it was fitted within the day. We are quite happy with the finish but wont know how well it works untill our next trip.
