We woke early to ready to head off. The plan was to drive from here to Wave Rock just east of Hyden. We drove through Narrogin picking up fuel along the way. From there we passed through Wickepin then onto Kulin stopping between Kondinin and Hyden for lunch.
After lunch we continued onto Hyden. We were going to stop at Tressies Caravan park about 17 Km from Hyden but could not see anyone else there so we continued onto Wave Rock Tourist Park where we booked in for the night.
The caravan park is just behind Wave Rock with the major attractions within walking distance. After setting up we walked up to Hippo's Yawn then back towards and along Wave Rock itself. The wave was formed by millions of years of water errosion. A wall has been built across the top of the rock and is used to divert the water that flows over the rock to a water catchment dam next door. |
