Heading out from Coober Pedy we once again turned north onto the Stuart Hwy. The country side was still very much a barren plain with mounds of dirt where test holes for Opal mining had been drilled.
Leaving Port Augusta we headed on our Northward leg of the journey towards Darwin. I did note that Port Augusta was the most eastern point we would travel to and the rest of the journey will take us back in a westerly direction.
Leaving Port Lincoln we headed out through the centre of town. There is no bypass road in Port Lincoln, the only way to transition from Flinders Hwy to Lincoln Hwy is through the middle of town with lots of awkward roundabouts and local traffic to dodge.
The continuing saga of trying to get our fridge repaired, after the Easter Monday public holiday I started to ring around to all the Dometic agents. Started with Ceduna, then Streaky Bay then Port Pierie then Port Lincoln, all saying the same thing, no parts available. The Caravan Repairer in Port Lincoln suggested we try EP Temperature Control in the same town as they may have what you are looking for. I gave them a call and finally we found the part, the only spare left on the planet apparently. So our travelling direction has now changed and we are heading for Port Lincoln at the bottom of the Ayre Peninsula.
We departed Esperance, the weather was fine and hoped this would continue for the rest of the week while we crossed the Nullarbor. We were a bit late out of the gate but not concerned as we did not have to be anywhere at a certain time.
