We called our caravan service guy for advice on repairing the washing machine. He said DACAPS were the agent for repairing the Lemair 2.2. We called them and spoke with another tech guy, he advised if the pump needed replacing, they would have to order one in, cost  was $60.00 with a Lemair delivery fee of $20.00. I explained why I though the pump was broken and he suggested remove it from the machine and check for blockages anyway. Even if it doesn't pump out the water it can still be blocked, or jamed, even if water runs out when you lower the hose.

We removed the washing machine from the van making sure we capture any spilled water and placed the machine on a table outside. The Lemair is suprisingly light making it easy to move but small and compact to work on. I was able to remove the pump and found the impeller was jammed with a small amount of cotton. It was easy to free up but I had no way of testing it except by putting it back together then back into the van.

After putting it in position and assembling all the pipes and leads we crossed our fingers and ran it through the test cycle. When it reach the drain part of the cycle with a sigh of relief it work, Anne was feeling much happier at that point. We let it run through the whole cycle just to make sure. I guess part of living in a caravan on the road is you have to become self sufficent and be a jack of all trades as calling out a repairman could be worth more than replacing the appliance.

We have decided to stay in Cowarumup for another day partly to sort out the washing maching and partly due to the bad weather expected early this week towards Kalgoorlie our next destination.
