Mitchell was one of the best free campspots we have stayed at so far. Its close proximity to a town a supply of drinking water at the campsite and toilet facilities made it a comfortable extended stop The only thing missing would be an onsite dump point.
We are camped near a small town called Mitchell about 160 Km East of Charleville or 89Km west of Roma The town is about the size of Pemberton or Donnybrook with the campsite located just out of town about 3 km at a spot called Neil Turner Weir.
Anne is not well at the moment. She started feeling a bit poorly the day we arrived into town and by nightfall she had a very sore throat and not sleeping well.
Leaving Barcaldine we headed on our next leg where we will ultimately end up in Bourke but little did we know en-route that a little incident involving a bridge and truck loaded with 50 tonnes of ANFO would change our plans.
